Squeak... keeping her eye on the ball!
People: Not long after I found out I was expecting the twins, I started following forums in an online group for expecting moms and found a small group of women who were expecting twins the same time as me. One of them started a facebook group, and we all keep in touch there every day. Even though I've only known them 2 years, and mostly only through online interactions or through text messages, I feel very strongly about them. This group has seriously helped me keep my sanity over the last 2 years. Well, one of these twin mama friends came down for a visit to Bmore and of course we made time to meet up. It was so nice to see her and the rest of her family! And I thought my Bear was snuggly, but oh my goodness one of her little guys is even way more snuggly than the Bear! I could have held him all day!

Places/Activities:A play date and breakfast with my twin mom friend and family this morning, and Squeak had a birthday party to attend for her best friend from school. It was her first time bowling and she was very determined to do it on her own without using the metal lane assist. It's been a while since I've been bowling, but they have a special metal ramp that kids can use when bowling where they put the ball on it, and roll it down the ramp to give them some speed and a little more accuracy when rolling the bowling ball. Squeak refused to use it and insisted on rolling it herself, which resulted in some pretty adorable moves on her part. It was so sweet to see her and the other kids jumping up and down for joy. This. This is stuff that I don't want to ever change. The joy that a four year old finds in every activity - whether it's holding a caterpillar, sharing your seat with a furry friend, or seeing your best friend that you haven't seen in two days but acting as though it's been a decade when you embrace and jump up and down with joy just for being there together. In the words of 10,000 Maniacs - "These are the days we remember."

Chores: Bathing children. And yes, this is a chore. Even more so than vacuuming and scrubbing toilets in my book!

Reading: Squeak and I are reading Two Times the Fun by Beverly Cleary. We read half tonight and will read the other half tomorrow night. I'll have to remember to read it to Puff and Bear when they are four since the book is about four year old boy/girl twins!

Recipes: Today after my twin mom friend left and before we went to the birthday party, I put together a casserole from a recipe I found online for Creamy Tuna Noodle Casserole from Taste of Home. It turned out really well. Everyone enjoyed it. I'm going to use it when I go back to work. It worked out really well for me to prep everything and put it in the casserole dish and leave it in the refrigerator until we got home from the party. Then it was easy just to heat the oven to 350 and voila! 30 minutes later dinner was on the table! I also recommend using the shredded Parmesan instead of grated Parmesan. At least this is what my family prefers! I'll definitely be making this one again! Going to write it up and add it to the recipe box!
All prepped and ready for the fridge!
Super yum!

Random Thoughts: Yesterday we went tile shopping. It was honestly easier to pick a donor for the children than it is to pick tile for the kitchen backsplash. For real. I guess for kids it didn't matter so much because we would love them no matter what they looked like or how they turned out. Funny then how we can't think the same about tiles. We both liked a couple of them, but now after looking at them for two days, we are back to square one and going to look at another tile store at some point this week. At this point I'm thinking let's just put cork board up around the entire thing so we can pin up recipe cards. Now THAT would be functional! Check out this tile pattern... if you were a product of ATARI or arcade games in the 80's it might bring back memories of Qbert ;)
