Day 2

Today was a lazy day. Not much done in the way of productivity, but instead just a lot of quality family time!

People: Today was my mom's birthday, so we paid her a visit! At the start of summer Squeak and my mom planted vegetable seeds. Each time Squeak visits, there is always something for her to find and pick. There isn't much left now that summer is almost over, but she did find a tiny ripe strawberry to pick and eat and a cucumber.

Places/Activities: It was such a gorgeous day today that we decided to go to Fort McHenry for a walk. Squeak enjoyed picking flowers and running up and down the hill. The babies enjoyed the walk and the twin gawkers.

Good Deeds: We attempted to patronize our local coffee shop only to find a sign that read they were closed when we arrived. It was so very sad to see another local business close up shop due to a lack of customers.

Chores: No chores today - it's Sunday! Squeak and I did make a run to Costco for groceries and I made a large batch of crockpot oatmeal to separate and freeze to use for the babies for breakfasts. It should hold us for about 3 weeks or so.

Reading: We finished the Magic Tree House book, Tigers at Twilight. Yay! Onto book 20!

Random Thoughts: While we were hanging out at Fort McHenry, Squeak pointed out a fresh disposable coffee container floating in the water and shouted, "litter" with a look of horror on her face. Usually when we are in a parking lot and see litter, I stop and pick it up and we throw it away. It was difficult for her to see junk out in the water knowing that  we couldn't just reach over and pick it up to throw it away. I'm glad that she is already so environmentally conscientious.
